Gravel Bike: what is it ?

Recently, in the world of cycling, it's spreading more and more a kind of bicycle called “Gravel”, much appreciated and used. But what exactly is a Gravel Bike?
The answer is easy, in a world that is more and more specialized and sectored. Let's explain better: those who love speeding on paved roads, will use a racing bike, lightweight and quick, those who prefer to ride on rough terrain, will use a Mtb, with its thick wheels and suspension forks while those who delight in long hikes, can choose a trekking bike well equipped to bring luggage but certainly can't pretend to reach high speed performances. Each of these bikes, has its different sub-category to choose from, but what if you are looking for a bicycle with which ride on dirt roads as well on the asphalt and maybe allow to achieve good speed? Here for you, there is the Gravel Bike! The name speaks for itself and it's a bicycle designed precisely to deal dirt roads. This type of bike was born in America, where secondary roads are often unpaved. From there, it spread quickly around the world, becoming not only a fashion because that's a real world, and for some, a way of life. But are we sure that Gravel Bike is a modern invention? Or maybe it's a review of a past that in Italy (the country of the most beautiful white roads), already knew a fast bike that faced dirt paths? Those bikes were used by our grandparents, with whom they went everywhere across roads not paved. Furthermore, remember that bikes used to make the history of cycling, in the verty first editions of “Giro d'Italia”, were also built to run on dirt roads.
However the Gravel isn't a vintage bike and uses the most modern solutions and technologies, serving ancient idea of an adventurous and indomitable cycling that is not afraid of dirt roads and challenges: actually Gravel Races are spreading all around the world, for those who are not afraid of adversity.....An experience not to be missed!
