Tuscany in Winter: Between Sea, Mountains, and Cycling

Dear friends from Northern Europe,

I understand that the calendar says February, and from your part of the world, the idea of a cycling holiday might be postponed to warmer times. But here in Italy, especially in Tuscany, things are quite different. Today, for example, I went to the seaside for lunch, in Cinquale, and it felt like spring!

20 degrees, clear skies, a sun that warmed without burning. We ate outside, no need for heaters, coats, or blankets. Just the pleasure of the sea breeze and a postcard-perfect view. In front of us, the Cinque Terre looked like a painting, behind us the sharp profiles of the Apuan Alps, and all around the Versilia coast basking in a day of pure beauty.

A real feast for the eyes, but also for the palate: an excellent lunch in a charming restaurant at Bagno Solemar. An experience that perfectly sums up what winter in this part of Italy can offer: relaxing rides, incredible scenery, and delicious breaks.

And tomorrow? Well, who knows... Tuscany always manages to surprise you!

So I ask: why wait for summer when everything is so perfect right now? Quiet roads, ideal temperatures for cycling without sweating, and that crisp light we often dream of in summer.

I hope some of you start reconsidering. Tuscany awaits you, even now. And trust me, you won’t regret it!

See you soon in the saddle,
Paolo
