Stages

Arrival in Pisa
Day 1
A simple, urban route to start getting familiar with your gravel bike and discover the city center. On a dedicated bike path, you'll cross the beautifully maintained public garden of Fortezza Sangallo, traverse bridges with breathtaking views, admire Keith Haring's modern art mural "Tuttomondo," and cycle along a section of the city's ancient medieval walls. A quick salute to the Leaning Tower and then off you go, to continue exploring this city rich in history and culinary traditions.
San Rossore Park and Sea
Day 2
Get ready for a wild gravel adventure in Tuscany!
The San Rossore Park and coastline offer a unique blend of nature and coastal scenery. This flat route features a mix of smooth gravel roads and more technical sections through pine forests. You'll reach the charming seaside town of Marina di Pisa, perfect for a refreshing swim or a quick bite. The return journey takes you along the coast and through the pine forests to the historic Coltano estate, home to a beautiful Medici Villa..
From Pisa to Lucca
Day 3
From Pisa to Lucca: a gravel adventure awaits!  Leave Pisa behind and embark on an exciting journey to the beautiful city of Lucca. This route, a perfect mix of nature and history, will challenge you and reward you with diverse landscapes. Once you reach Viareggio, take a moment to relax in one of its historic cafes or enjoy a seafood lunch. Leaving the sea and the urban area behind, you'll pedal on white roads that cut through the fields at the foot of the hills. The ideal warm-up to prepare your legs for the hills that separate the coast from the city! A beer in the center of Lucca, surrounded by the Renaissance walls, is the best reward you can give yourself.
SOUTH HILLS LOOP – History & Nature.
Day 4
Start your journey cycling along the quiet bike path that runs along the river. The real adventure begins when the roads get steeper and delve into the hills: you will pedal on quiet and little-traveled roads, surrounded by cultivated fields and rows of cypress trees. Small historic villages characterized by an authentic and peaceful atmosphere with ancient villas and small Romanesque churches dating back to the High Middle Ages. The ascent to the "Passo di Dante" is a real test for your legs. A short but sustained climb, first on asphalt and then on a rough surface, will challenge you from the very first meters. The effort will be amply rewarded by the breathtaking view that awaits you at the top. During the route, take a break at the springs of the ancient aqueduct: immerse yourself in nature, fill your water bottles with fresh water and admire the surrounding landscape. Before returning, another couple of climbs to raise your heart rate and then the last flat stretch will bring you back to the city.
Francigena and East plain route.
Day 5
Today, you'll be exploring the borderlands where the provinces of Lucca, Florence, Pistoia, and Pisa meet. Once you reach the countryside, your adventure begins on ancient dirt roads that were once submerged by the waters of Lake Bientina. Pedal through cultivated fields and forests, savoring the unique atmosphere of this region. Feel the mud under your tires and the wind in your hair, an experience that will reconnect you with authentic nature. Your first stop will be Altopascio, a medieval village famous for its hospitality along the Via Francigena. Don't forget to taste the local bread, best enjoyed with Tuscan cheeses and cured meats, produced according to ancient traditions. The journey continues with a challenging climb to Montecarlo, a charming hilltop town. Explore its medieval walls, visit the Rocca del Cerruglio fortress, and indulge in a wine tasting at one of the many local wineries. Conclude your loop by riding on flat dirt roads, admiring the surrounding landscape and reflecting on the emotions you experienced during your day.
From Lucca to Viareggio
Day 6
Today's journey takes us back to the coast for a few days of seaside relaxation. Once again, the river bike path will guide you into the countryside without the stress of city traffic. A perfect warm-up for your legs before tackling the long climb to Fibbialla, a medieval village perched on a hill. Once you reach the village, take a short break to catch your breath, refill your water bottles, and admire the view. Restart, climbing again, and delve into the hills separating Lucca from Versilia: long stretches of dirt roads, with rough surfaces and characterized by ups and downs await you. The views are unparalleled, the perfect setting to enjoy the feeling of freedom that only gravel can give you! After conquering the hills, you will reach Camaiore. Here, you can take a break in the historic center, perhaps enjoying a typical local dish. From Camaiore, continue towards Viareggio. The road is mostly flat, perfect for recovering the energy spent during the climb. Pedal along the coast, admiring the sea and the beaches, until you reach your final destination.
Versilia circuit
Day 7

Enjoy a final gravel adventure along the Tuscan coast. Start with an easy ride along the seaside bike path towards Forte dei Marmi. Famous for its luxury boutiques and refined beach clubs, it's the perfect place for a quick coffee break on the seafront or to visit the heart of the village. Leave Forte dei Marmi behind and take a secondary road that will lead you to discover a wilder side of this area. You will cycle between the sea and the majestic Apuan Alps in the background. The climbs will challenge you, but the effort will be amply rewarded by the breathtaking views. Another gem along the route that will bring you back to Viareggio is Pietrasanta. This small town, at the foot of the hills, with its numerous art galleries, squares, and cafes, is definitely worth a visit. The ride, and your holiday, are almost over: celebrate the end of your journey with a glass of wine or a local beer in one of the squares in the historic center!
