Stages

Day 1
Arrival in Lucca
Lucca welcomes you! Today is for settling in and exploring this enchanting walled city. Take a walk or bike ride along its grand
Renaissance walls for stunning panoramic views. Wander through the historic center's narrow streets, discover hidden gems, and enjoy
your first taste of authentic Tuscan flavors. Get ready; your cycling tour officially kicks off tomorrow!
Day 2
Lucca wine Loop
(30km - 300m)
This captivating loop ride starts from Lucca's historic center, heading south into the scenic hills.
You'll gently climb to Gattaiola and Meati, home to charming ancient Romanesque churches—perfect for a historical pause and photos.
The route then winds north into Lucca's renowned wine country, featuring a delightful stop at a local winery for a tasting. Savor local
wines and learn about the region's viticulture.
Finally, enjoy a tranquil ride on secondary roads back to Lucca, with stunning views of the Tuscan countryside. This tour offers a perfect
blend of culture, scenery, and local flavors
Day 3
Lucca - San Miniato
(45km - 480m)
From the majestic Walls of Lucca, the itinerary unfolds, initially easy and flat, tracing the footsteps of the ancient Francigena pilgrims. The
first stop is the mystical stillness of the Badia di Pozzeveri, a place of prayer and refreshment. Upon reaching Altopascio, the ringing of
the Bell Tower invites a pause to taste the local bread.
After crossing the wild landscape of the Cerbaie, the Arno River acts as the
boundary. The effort of the final climb to San Miniato Alto is rewarded by the sight of the illuminated alleys and the intoxicating aroma of
truffles. A journey that nourishes both the soul and the palate.
Day 4
San MIniato Loop
(45km - 460m)
Starting and finishing in the historic heights of San Miniato, this scenic loop guides you deep into the quiet heart of the Tuscan
countryside. Leaving the medieval lanes behind, your cycling journey quickly becomes a rolling panorama of classic landscapes:
sun-drenched olive groves, orderly vineyards, and ancient farmhouses bathed in golden light. This tranquil route offers pure immersion,
where the only sounds are your tires on the gravel and the chime of the bell towers of small churches.

Along the way, the air is thick with the promise of local delights. Look for small “trattorie” to sample regional wines or artisanal olive oil.
The route offers gentle climbs followed by rewarding descents, culminating in the final ascent back to San Miniato.
Day 5
San Miniato - San Gimignano
(45km - 830m)
A demanding leg, but one with unique beautiful scenery, awaits you. From San Miniato you will descend in the bottom of Val d’Elsa to
later ascend again towards Gambassi Terme, where you will be able to cross the threshold of the Pieve di Chianni and enjoy a healthy
bathe in the hot springs of Gambassi, surrounded by a park of ancient trees.

You will continue your journey pedalling across splendid natural scenery to San Gimignano, one of the most beautiful towns along the Via Francigena: you will get a foretaste of your arrival when you see the famous towers that make its skyline unmistakeable. Do not miss the view of the medieval town and its surrounding valleys from the top of the Torre Grossa, or if you don’t run out of energy, venture up the steps of the Rocca di Montestaffoli, for an even more special view
Day 6
San Gimignano - Siena
(50km - 780m)
Leaving San Gimignano, your ride sweeps through the Tuscan hills to Colle Val d'Elsa, a captivating village. Discover a meditative
section of the Via Francigena, where the silence of ancient sites like Pieve di Strove and Abbadia a Isola offers profound peace. Marvel
at Monteriggioni Castle, its magnificent towers dominating the skyline; take time to walk its battlements for sweeping views. Continue
your journey into Siena, entering its historic core through Porta Camollia. Conclude your adventure with delicious Pici all'Aglione in the
magical Piazza del Campo, perhaps followed by traditional Panforte.
Day 7
Siena Loop
(36km - 660m)
Experience the heart of Tuscany on our Siena Cycling Loop! Your journey begins in the UNESCO World Heritage center of Siena,
admiring the Gothic majesty of the Piazza del Campo and the Duomo. Leaving the city, we quickly dive into the iconic Crete Senesi
landscape. Cycle past the medieval charm of Corsignano and the quiet hills near Pievasciata.

Your ultimate destination is the Fattoria "San Giorgio a Lapi," where you'll indulge in the region's savory best. Sample farm-to-table
products that capture the essence of the land you just traversed.
An unforgettable immersion into the sensory riches of the Sienese countryside.
Day 8
