The villas of Lucca are situated in the countryside and the ring of the hill that surrounds Lucca. The villas, still well preserved today, are in themselves a heritage of rare beauty in a truly splendid environment with its large parks, with trees and plants of all species, sometimes rare, fish ponds and ponds and the typical Mountainous landscape of the area with olive groves and vineyards. These prestigious villas were built at the behest of noble families and, in any case, richer than the city of Lucca, as summer residences, between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries.

This is an itinerary that wants to take you to explore the most prestigious villas through a green and sweet landscape. We leave Lucca through the bike path that runs along the course of the Serchio River to Ponte a Moriano. The first villa we know is Villa Oliva, in San Pancrazio, and after a few meters Villa Grabau and Villa Reale will open to our view, its current structure is due to Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi. These villas can be visited by buying an entrance ticket and in the magnificent Villa Reale Park you can also move by bicycle
Leaving Villa Reale behind, the road takes us back to the valley. We cross a small flat area and then climb the hill to Segromigno in Monte, where we find ourselves shortly in an unusual atmosphere; The buildings in front of the entrance of Villa Torrigiani with a characteristic style create a very small town called Little Paris. The villa is one of the most interesting examples of 17th-century architecture found in Lucca. The garden is characterized by flower beds and large swimming pools inspired by the projects of the Palace of Versailles, with caves and water fountains that are still used today. A few meters from here is also Colle di Bordocheo, the winery where our bike trip will end and where our food and wine trip, visit, tasting and lunch will begin ... and we should not worry about the return, the minivan will come and recover ourselves and the bicycles!
